Brigid Hagerty

I have been employed by the Yellowstone-West/Carbon County Special Services Cooperative (YWCCSSC) since 2008 as a Speech Language Pathologist Aide, Level II. Prior to my employment at YWCCSSC I taught Developmental Reading at Montana State University-Billings, coordinated the initial Montana Universal Newborn Hearing Screening program through the Montana Center on Disabilities, and worked as a Speech Therapist in San Antonio, Texas. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Idaho State University-Pocatello in 1996 and continued my formal education earning a Master's of Education degree in Reading from Montana State University-Billings in 2009.

I enjoy the versatility of my position with the YWCCSSC in that I provide services to students ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade with a variety of different diagnoses on a variety of different campuses. It is exciting to help students gain communication skills and increase their independence. Additionally, increasing communication skills often supports better reading skills helping students to be more successful in school and to become life long learners!
